課程概述

This course is designed for the students to learn about some advanced knowledge on seismic techniques and their applications. Topics will cover subjects from seismic data acquisition, processing, ananlysis to interpretation. Each semester, there will be 5 to 8 topics which are interested to the students taking this course selected, and each topic will have 2 to 3 sub-topics assigned for one week each. Students are asked to read related references before the class, and then to present the key concepts and discuss about the questions concerning that sub-topics. Each student will be asked to make 3 to 4 presentations on their selected sub-topics, and all the presentations and discussion will be in English. 

課程目標
1. Students will learn about the basic concepts and recent developments and knowledges on the subjects they are interested in concerning seismic methods.
2. Students will learn how to integrated contents of various references and grasp the key concepts concerning a discussed subject.
3. Students will learn how to make presentations and also to activly participate the discussion.
4. Students will advance their paper searching and reading abilities.
5. This is an English course, so students will improve their English presentation and communication skills.  
課程要求
The students taking this course need to have some basic understandings of the seismic methods and geological concepts. Students will also be able to communicate with English.
